Board of Trustees
The GCCS Board is a group of educators, business leaders, community representatives, museum officials, and parents who work collaboratively to further the school's mission. The Board is primarily responsible for ensuring that the school acts consistently with the charter and its expressed philosophy, establishing fiscal and personnel policies, adopting and monitoring budgets, approving contracts, and ensuring compliance with New York State Charter Law. Board members bring a range of expertise to their positions, including law, finance, education, social work, human resources, and business.
The Board comprises seventeen members: nine community representatives, the School Leader, two GCCS teachers, two museum representatives, and three parents. Each member serves three year terms. Community representatives are elected by the Board, teacher representatives are elected by the GCCS staff, museum representatives are appointed by the RMSC President, and parents are elected by the Family Association.
The Board meets on the second Monday of each Month at 5:30 p.m.
