Testing the Waters
SPRING, 2006-2007
Testing the Waters provided fifth graders with an opportunity to work as scientists. Through observation of organisms that live in stream ecosystems, students investigated the needs of the organisms, and explored the effects of pollution within a watershed. The class gathered data to formulate scientific conclusions about the quality of a local waterway. In addition to reflecting on their learning, the class also shared what they learned with the community through service projects.
