In the Deep, Dark, Depths...

FALL, 2009-2010

Throughout the In the Deep, Dark, Depths... expedition, the kindergarten class will investigate the answers to the following questions: What lived here (around Rochester) long ago? How do we know? How do we learn things? How do we share what we know? The expedition will consist of in-depth investigations of living things in prehistory using fossil evidence including specific local fossil finds. The expedition will focus on the warm seas time period of prehistory. Students will work in crews to research a living thing from the warm sea period and create a labeled diagram of their fossil focusing on how the animal moved, what and how it ate, and how it defended itself against other living creatures.
